The Turkish National Environment Awards, which are held every two years and feed into the European Business Awards for the Environment, are organised by the Regional Environmental Center (REC) – Country Office Turkey. They reward companies in three different categories: management, product and process. There were 26 entries and seven companies were rewarded for their remarkable achievements in the field of innovation and environmental friendly products and sustainable management of business operations.
The first prize winners in each category were:

Management: ICDAS Inc. – for management systems that cut costs by reducing gas/water use and increasing productivity.

Product: Ford Automotive – for a hybrid electric light commercial vehicle using less fuel without compromising performance.

Process: Metro Asset Management – Meydan Shopping Mall – for installing a vertical ground source heat pump in its shopping mall.
