No approval is given for any product delivery without the completion of all the necessary control procedures by the İÇDAŞ laboratories pursuant to the standards on chemical and physical matters. First, the results of all the inspection, test and measurement procedures appertaining to our products are evaluated on the basis of compliance with the required product standards and customer satisfaction and then the delivery approval is given.

OUR QUALITY CONTROL CHEMICAL LABORATORY
At the end of:
• Raw material entry,
• Semi-finished billet production process and result,
• Product manufacturing stages,
chemical inspections and measurements are performed in our Laboratory.

Chemical inspection, test and measurement procedures are applied on to the all raw materials (ferro-alloys, refractory materials, refining additives, etc.), which affect our product quality, in their entry stage; and on the semi-finished and finished products in their processing and final control stages. The delivery approval is given after the completion of evaluation of the inspection and test results on the basis of compliance with the relevant product standards and in the direction of customer requests.

The inspection, test and measurement devices used in our chemistry laboratory;
-3 optical emission devices-ARL spectrometer (measurement of 21 elements including the nitrogen can be carried out).
-1 Nitrogen and Oxygen Detection device,
-1 Carbon Sulphur Detection Device,
-4 Sensitive Electronic Scales,
- Various chemical analysis, temperature measurement and electronic control devices.

All the inspection, test and measurement devices used in our chemistry laboratory have calibration certificates and the calibration procedures are carried out periodically by the independent calibration laboratories having national and international accreditation.

QUALITY CONTROL MECHANICAL LABORATORY

The inspection, test and measurement procedures carried out at our Quality Control Mechanical Laboratory begins with rhombic and curvature controls of the semi-finished steel billets produced in the steelwork production process.

The billets, which at the end of controls performed are determined as being in compliance with the set standards, are then processed as finished products in our rolling mills and furthermore, are subjected to a series of mechanical and dimensional control procedures.

If we are to summarise the inspection, test and measurement procedures performed on our products, these are;

*Unit weight controls,
*Measurement of the yield and tensile strength values,
*Deformed bar measurements (height, thickness, edges, step, angle, area),
*measurement of groove thickness and height,
*% Elongation measurements,
*Calculation of % AGT values,
*Evaluation of bending and re-bending test results,
*Controlling of the steel bar cross sectional surface with macro etching.
*Ellipticity controls (for the flat products).
*Charpy Impact Test,
*Hardness measurements,
*Upset Test (for the cold-heading steel quality),
* Metallographic examinations,
*Microstructure examinations,
*Cycling Test (Deformation test),

Also, on our rods, quarterly fatigue tests are carried out by overseas certification bodies (in countries such as in England, Germany, France, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, etc.) relevant to dynamic and static safety tension of the buildings. Earthquake resistance of the buildings are determined through the Bond Test and Fatigue Tests.

The data collected from all the inspection, test and measurement procedures performed in relation to our products are evaluated by carrying out statistical quality controls.

The procedures performed in our Metallographic Laboratory, are:

  • Macro-structure
  • Micro-structure
  • Micro-cleanliness
  • Grain size
  • Decarburising
  • Segregation

Inspection, test and measurement devices used in our Quality Control Mechanical Laboratory, are:

  • 4 Tensile Test Device - “respectively with 20, 40, 150 and 200 ton capacities”
  • 4 Bending and re-bending test Devices,
  • 3 special marking device (for the % Elongation and % AGT measurements),
  • 5 sensitive electronic scales,
  • Electronic type and Vernier type Callipers,
  • Micrometers,
  • Angle measuring devices,
  • Steel Rulers and measuring tapes.

All the inspection, test and measurement devices used in our mechanical laboratory have calibration certificates and the calibration procedures are carried out periodically by independent calibration laboratories having national and international accreditation.
