To minimize the environmental impacts generated during production processes, İÇDAŞ focuses particularly on waste management, water management, energy efficiency, and emission control. Reducing waste at the source, disseminating recycling and recovery applications, and disposing of hazardous waste without harming the environment are among our primary priorities.

We carry out our water management approach based on the effective, efficient, and sustainable use of water resources. Water supply for our facilities' processing and operational needs, including potable water, is sourced from seawater. With our desalination plant boasting a capacity of 17,000 m³/day, no groundwater or other freshwater resources are utilized, thereby contributing to the reduction of pressure on freshwater sources. We regularly monitor our water consumption on a process basis and set targets for reducing water usage per unit of production. To increase water efficiency, we carry out studies on water recovery, reuse, and the widespread use of closed-loop systems, including rainwater harvesting systems. Through these efforts, we aim to reduce the amount of water withdrawal, increase the efficient use of water, and minimize our environmental impacts on natural water resources.

Combating climate change constitutes a fundamental component of İÇDAŞ's environmental management approach. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions arising from operations, increasing energy efficiency, and achieving compliance with a low-carbon economy are among our priority goals.

To protect air quality, the impacts of air pollutants such as SOx, NOx, VOC, particulate matter (PM), and dust are regularly monitored; according to measurement results, all parameters have been verified to be below legal limit values.
