As İÇDAŞ A.Ş., we have established an Occupational Health and Safety culture by implementing all proactive measures possible, even before Turkey’s Law No. 6331, and instilling this culture in our employees for a safe work environment.
On November 8, 2007, we were entitled to receive the internationally recognized OHSAS 18001:1999 Occupational Health and Safety Management System certificate following an audit by Bureau Veritas, becoming the first organization in our sector to hold this certification. The transition to the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard was completed on December 2, 2008, and the transition to the ISO 45001:2018 standard was successfully achieved in 2020.
Safe Working Environment and Our Responsibilities
Occupational health and safety have the highest priority both because of their importance to our stakeholders and the nature of our business. We consider providing a safe and healthy working environment for our employees to be one of our primary responsibilities. Accordingly, İÇDAŞ implements the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System to take comprehensive measures for protecting our employees' health and safety.
To fulfill our OHS commitments, we provide comprehensive OHS training to all new employees. These trainings aim to ensure our employees recognize potential risks, understand safe working methods, and show full compliance with our OHS policies.

All new employees receive training on risk recognition, safe working methods, and full compliance with OHS policies.
Risk Assessment & Control
We minimize risks through the hierarchy of control: elimination, engineering controls, administrative measures, and personal protective equipment.
24/7 Fire Brigade Service
Risk-based measures have been taken in our facilities, and our team of expert fire technicians is on 24/7 alert.
24/7 Health Unit & Infirmary
Composed of an occupational physician and other medical personnel, our unit provides uninterrupted service for our employees' health needs.
Our risk assessment and management procedures focus on hazard identification and risk mitigation. By utilizing the hierarchy of control—such as eliminating hazards, selecting less hazardous alternatives, engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment—we aim to minimize occupational health and safety risks.
Within the scope of our policies, we continuously monitor and improve our OHS performance and develop our business processes in line with feedback from our employees.

As İÇDAŞ, we aim to ensure the continuity of our Occupational Health and Safety Management System, adopted by our employees under the leadership of top management, by prioritizing quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental health in our operations. To achieve these goals, we adopt the following principles:

- We will always create and implement studies and projects that will continuously improve OHS performance.

- We will ensure that employees and employee representatives actively participate in all processes of the OHS Management System with their opinions and suggestions.

Awards & National / International Participation
Participated in the International Multidisciplinary Congress on Natural Sciences and Engineering held on December 6-7, 2024, with an oral presentation titled "The Evaluation of Methane Gas Explosion Risk in Confined Spaces - A Case Study in Ship Building Industry."
Our project titled "Best Practice Examples for Eliminating and/or Reducing Risks in Steel Production Process Temperature Measurement Applications" was awarded the Jury Special Award among 52 applications from 41 different workplaces in the European Good Practice Awards Competition themed "Occupational Health and Safety in the Digital Age" organized by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Labor and Social Security, DG of OHS.
A presentation was delivered on "Spiral Training Modeling in Power Plant Occupational Safety Trainings" at the 9th International Occupational Health and Safety Congress led by DG of OHS.
Papers and presentations were delivered on modeling major industrial accidents caused by chemicals, personal protective equipment effectiveness, basic OHS training methodology, hazardous material transport, and ferrosilicon storage at the congress organized by the TMMOB Chamber of Mechanical Engineers in Adana.
İÇDAŞ won the "Golden Suggestion" award in the competition organized by MESS, and our "Little Archaeologists" project was awarded at the TİSK Corporate Social Responsibility Awards. Additionally, a poster presentation was made at the 8th International OHS Congress.
Papers were presented on OHS, disaster communication, and health risks within the scope of the ÇASGEM Metal Recycling Workshop, AFAD Disaster Management Workshop, and the 5th National Productivity Congress.
Our project "Accident-Free Production through Cultural Change," prepared within the scope of the "Let's Cooperate to Prevent Risks" campaign carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and EU-OSHA, was selected as Turkey's first place, earning the right to represent our country in Europe.
Our paper titled "Accident-Free Steel Production" was accepted at the 16th International Metallurgy and Materials Congress and shared with the international steel sector.
Selected as the "Best Practice Example at the National Level" with our project themed "Safe Maintenance," organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work.
Awarded the "Productive Worker-Employer of the Year" awards consecutively in 2007 and 2008 by the National Productivity Center (MPM). Additionally, received the best practice award at the 2008 Ministry of Labor and Social Security 5th International OHS Regional Conference competition.
