Sustainable Green Logistics & Operations
Railway transportation within İÇDAŞ is positioned as an eco-friendly and strategic component of our integrated logistics network. Generating significantly lower carbon emissions compared to road transport makes railways a primary alternative regarding our environmental responsibility and sustainability goals.
Utilizing the infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) with its current fleet of 176 wagons, İÇDAŞ carries out transport activities on designated routes. The annual transport capacity via railway is planned at 213,840 tons, which is updated at the beginning of each year in line with projected transport plans. Our shipments predominantly consist of high-value-added steel products.

Our railway transportations are carried out via the Ankara and Bandırma - Kuş Cenneti lines, which are of critical importance for the logistics continuity of our facilities.
- Domestic Supporting Role: Railway transportation provides a strong framework supporting road transport in domestic operations.
- Multimodal Flexibility: Integrated use of maritime transport in international operations alongside railway and road transport domestically ensures operational flexibility and contributes to emission reduction.
- Growth Trend: Between 2019 and 2022, our railway transportations increased, reaching the 140 thousand ton level in 2022; as of 2025, 26,308 tons of steel products were transported in line with operational planning.
